The Surveying Department is comprised of one Department Manager, several Survey Coordinators, Survey Technicians, Draftspeople and field personnel. Currently, professional licenses are held in three states. Office and Field personnel experience spans throughout the country, as well as ability and willingness to work both independently and with other local or regional firms. Our office record vault contains original subdivision plats, lot surveys and cadastral information for Missouri and Illinois with record dates reaching back into the early 1800’s. ACCIDENT RECONSTRUCTION / FORENSIC SURVEYING

DESCRIPTION: Clayton Engineering and its’ personnel have been involved in highly detailed and precise accident reconstruction mapping and surveying as well as site event mapping. We have a “rapid response” survey crew that locates details from highway accidents, pipeline accidents, airplane crash debris fields, and can establish a network to monitor movement of buildings, earthwork, and other precision driven projects. We then create maps and documents showing the results and can furnish them to the client in various formats. We are experts at mapping and documenting physical evidence.


THE BOEING COMPANY

LOCATIONS: Earth City, Missouri - Boeing Elm Point;
                  Hazelwood, Missouri - Buildings 220, 245, 101A, 33, 105, 27A, 505, 506, 508, Hazelwood Campus, Boeing Leadership Center, New Boeing Parcels.

DESCRIPTION: Past and current projects are representative of The Boeing Company and Clayton Engineering’s long standing business relationship. We have recently performed survey work for building additions, as well as Topographic and Improvement Surveys. We perform the work necessary for Machine Foundation Layouts, Mechanical As-Builts, Storm and Sanitary As-Builts, Subdivision and Parcel Boundary Surveys, Miscellaneous Surveying and Control Survey work needed at the Boeing facilities in and around St. Louis.


MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION - PUBLIC PARKS

LOCATIONS: Jefferson County, Missouri, Lincoln County, Missouri, Pike County, Missouri, and St. Louis County.
SITE AREA: Varies
CLIENT: Missouri Department of Conservation
PROJECTS: BK Leach Conservation Area, Pacific Palisades Conservation Area, Ranacker Conservation Area.
DESCRIPTION: B.K. Leach Conservation Area – Located 3 miles South of Elsberry, Missouri and bordered by the Mississippi River, this wildlife area contains wetlands, forests, croplands and ponds. Known for the waterfowl and quail hunting, deer hunting, fishing, trapping and bird watching are also other popular activities within the confines of this 4,307 park. Beginning in May, 2009, Clayton Engineering was contracted by the M.D.C. to monument crossing U.S. Survey corners, as well as section information used to establish property boundaries. We marked several required property lines to MDC specifications, with signs and posts approximately 300’ apart in addition to locating any and all encroachments.

                  Pacific Palisades Conservation Area – This park is on the St. Louis and Jefferson County lines, with 3 miles of lower Meramec River running through the it, bluffs, islands, sandbars and forests make this 695 acre conservation area ideal for local fishing and hunting. The Clayton Engineering Company is monumenting the included U.S. Surveys and Conservation area boundary in the standard M.D.C. sign and post fashion, crossing the river, island and along the bluffs in order to re-establish the park boundaries with more permanent exterior limits.
                  Ranacker Conservation Area – Located 3 miles South of Franklin, Missouri is 1,831 acres of M.D.C. park for bird watching, camping, fishing and hunting. Among rolling North Eastern Missouri hills, Peno Creek and old agricultural fields. In January – May, 2009, Clayton Engineering performed a Survey to establish the Eastern and Southern lines of parcels conveyed to The Conservation Commission of the State of Missouri by deed. Using both conventional and new field surveying methods in combination with record plats dating back to the late 19th century, the lines were established and later monumented to meet M.D.C. requirements with stamped brass caps, additionally all section, quarter section and fractional section corners used for control were re-established(if needed) and recorded with the DNR.


PRAIRIE STATE ENERGY CAMPUS

LOCATIONS: Edwardsville, Illinois, Marissa, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri
SITE AREA: Varies
CLIENT: Plocher Construction
PROJECTS: Erato Wine Bar, Forsyth Apartments, Operators Training Facility, Prairie State Energy Campus.
DESCRIPTION: The Clayton Engineering Company and Plocher Construction Company, Inc. have forged a solid, trustworthy business relationship. We have performed boundary, subdivision, topographic and improvement surveys on projects like Forsyth Apartments, Timberlake Village and The Erato Winebar. Additionally, Clayton Engineering was hired by Plocher Construction to perform the staking for the Limestone Reclaim Tunnel and Structure at The Prairie State Energy Campus, one of the nations’ largest clean coal fired power plants by Bechtel Corporation.


ST. LOUIS ZOO

LOCATION: St. Louis, Missouri
SITE AREA: Varies
CLIENT: St. Louis Zoo
PROJECTS: Pinniped Area, Maintenance Area.
DESCRIPTION: The Clayton Engineering Company topographical and improvement survey location work at the zoo beginning in 2008 for future designs and additions. Survey crews, with access from animal trainers and staff, located animal habitats, pathways, utilities, roads, buildings and many other items required in order to provide the Zoo with several detailed Topographical Surveys.
